Dedicated to Ulysse Delécluse, Variations on a tune of the Pays d'Oc by Louis Cahuzac is a piece for Clarinet and Piano that refers to an area of the south of France. Rhythms, chromaticisms, trills and other technical aspects make this piece very challenging. Its four variations are: 1. Allegretto vivo eleggerio, 2. Alla polacca, 3. Andante and 4. Moderato. Highly melodic, this piece would work exceptionally well for a recital. Louis Cahuzac was one of the very few clarinettists of the beginning of the 20th century who managedto make a career as a soloist.
